We’re here to help your stash find a new home.

We’re happy to accept your extra fabric and sewing supplies—but we have limited space and a specific inventory focus, so we can’t take everything. This guide will help you determine what we can accept and how to send it in.

🌿 Do You Accept Donations?

Yes! We gratefully accept donations of usable fabric and sewing supplies. Donated items that we can't sell will be passed along to educators, community groups, or textile recyclers when possible.

We accept drop-offs of unwanted fabric at our storefront located at 528 Riley Ave in Ogden, KS. We're open from 10-4 on Saturdays. If you'd like to drop off during the week, please email us at [email protected] to schedule a time.

💳 Do You Ever Offer Store Credit?

Yes—but only when we've explicitly agreed in advance.

If you're interested in receiving payment or store credit, please email us first at info@athriftynotionshop.com with:

  • Photos of the items

  • A brief description of what you’re offering

  • Your preference for how to receive credit (store credit, Venmo, PayPal or check, if applicable)

We'll review and let you know if we can offer credit before you send anything. We do not guarantee credit for unsolicited packages. Please note: we do not return anything once it's been sent.

✅ What We Accept

  • Quilting Cotton (at least 3" x 3" pieces)
  • Fashion or Home Decor Fabric (at least 1/4 yard cuts—no tiny scraps)
  • Thread, Embroidery Floss and other Embroidery supplies
  • Zippers, Buttons, Elastic and other Notions
  • Bias Tape and Seam Binding
  • Yarn, Knitting Needles or Crochet Supplies
  • Trims and lace (at least 6" long)
  • Garment and Quilting Patterns
  • Rotary Cutters, Rulers and other Sewing Tools
  • Books related to textile crafts

All items should be clean, odor-free, and in usable condition.

❌ What We Don’t Accept

To keep our workspace safe and organized, we cannot accept:

  • Sewing machines or furniture
  • Fabric samples, swatch books, or wallpaper
  • Finished quilts or garments

If we receive items we can’t use or pass along, we may need to discard them—so please only send what fits our needs.

📦 How Do I Send Items?

You can mail donations or approved-for-credit items to:

A Thrifty Notion
PO Box 647
Ogden, KS 66517

For UPS or FedEx:
528 Riley Ave
Ogden, KS 66517

Include a note with your name, email address, and whether you're donating or were approved for credit.

🧼 How Should I Pack Items?

  • Use sturdy boxes or heavy-duty bags.
  • Fabric should be clean and folded, not balled up or stuffed in haphazardly.

🗂️ I Have a Huge Collection—Can I Just Send It All?

If you’re downsizing, clearing out a sewing room, or handling an estate, please email us at info@athriftynotionshop.com first. We’ll do our best to help you rehome as much as possible while managing what we’re realistically able to accept.

We also pick up larger collections in the Northeast Kansas area. If you would like to schedule a pickup, please contact us at [email protected]
